[ARCHIVED] Road Closures Scheduled Ahead of Emancipation Parade

The annual Emancipation Parade will take place January 1, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The parade will begin on Fishburne Street near Burke High School, turn left on Ashley Avenue, right on Sumter Street, right on King Street, left on Calhoun Street, right on Concord Street and end near Laurens Street.  

Key Times

  • 11 a.m.: Parade Route closed in segments to avoid complete route closure 
  • 12:15 p.m.: Parade Route reopens
  • 12:45 p.m.: Program begins at the International African American Museum 

Vehicle access to several businesses and residences will be limited during the parade. Officers will be stationed along the route to assist with traffic flow and neighborhood access.
