Police Respond to Suspicious Package on Daniel Island

CPD Newsroom Posted on February 04, 2025

On February 3, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious package at Congresswoman Nancy Mace’s office on Island Park Drive, Daniel Island. Around 4:30 p.m., staff members received an unexpected package with no visible label and notified police, after previously receiving a bomb threat at the office last month.

Officers secured the area, closed River Landing Drive between Fairchild Street and Seven Farms Drive, and evacuated nearby offices while CPD’s Explosive Device Team investigated. Following a thorough inspection, the package was confirmed to be a legitimate delivery.

With no ongoing threat identified, the roadway and offices were reopened around 8:30 p.m. We appreciate the patience of those who live and work in the area and to the individuals who reported their concerns.
