The Charleston Police Department is requesting assistance in identifying two suspects who abandoned a dog on the West Ashley Greenway.
On October 8, 2024, at around 2 p.m. animal control officers responded to reports of a dog in distress on the Greenway. When they arrived, they observed a tan and black rottweiler tethered to a tree with no food or water. The dog had several wounds to his face, neck, ears and legs.
Officers discovered surveillance video showing two individuals tying the dog to the tree, and then walking towards Playground Road. The dog received treatment at the Charleston Animal Society and was recently adopted.
