Charleston Police Investigate Fatal Collision on Henry Tecklenburg Drive   
Charleston, S.C. - The Charleston Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating a single-vehicle collision that took place on March 17, 2023, at 10:35 a.m. on Henry Tecklenburg Drive. 
A FedEx-branded truck was traveling on Henry Tecklenburg Drive when it crossed the center line, ran off the left side of the road, and struck a tree. Arriving First Responders located the male driver of the truck, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

 

Henry Tecklenburg Drive was closed between Magwood Drive and Watchtower Lane for multiple hours as investigators processed the scene. The road was reopened late afternoon on March 17.

 

This collision remains under investigation. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.

This is the seventh (7th) fatal collision investigated by the Charleston Police Department in 2023.

CPD investigated two (2) traffic-related fatalities at this time in 2022.
