[ARCHIVED] Clements Ferry Collision Being Investigated as a Homicide

The Charleston Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Clements Ferry Road on January 14, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m.

CPD officers responded to a collision between a vehicle and a power pole on Clements Ferry Road, about half a mile from Cainhoy Road. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle off the roadway with along with the driver and passenger. 

During the preliminary investigation, detectives determined the driver was shot and believe the shooting occurred inside the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle died at the scene.

The passenger of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital. Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting and are working to determine all relevant facts in this case. Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.
