As of 2 p.m. today, 2.5 inches of rain had fallen in the city of Charleston, with continued precipitation expected.
Currently, 26 roads are closed due to flooding, primarily in the downtown area.
The next high tide, which is expected at 4:08 p.m., is forecast to be 6.9 feet.
Additional rain, sometimes heavy, is also expected between 6 and 11 p.m. tonight.
City of Charleston Director of Emergency Management Shannon Scaff said, “With another band of rain in the forecast this evening, citizens are urged to use caution when traveling and, as always, to avoid flooded roadways. City emergency management and public safety officials will continue to monitor the weather situation and provide updates, as necessary.”
