The City of Charleston has approved nighttime construction as part of ongoing South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) resurfacing projects along US Highway 17 — including both Septima Clark Parkway and Savannah Highway.
Schedule & Scope:
- Dates: June 16 through July 3
- Hours: 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. nightly
- Work Includes: Installation of decorative stamped crosswalks at designated intersections to improve pedestrian visibility, safety, and corridor aesthetics.
Traffic Impacts:
- Temporary lane closures and traffic shifts will occur during work hours.
- At least one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open at all times.
- Motorists are encouraged to use caution and follow posted signage.
This work is weather-dependent and may be delayed in the event of inclement conditions.
