Today, the city of Charleston released an
update to the Tour Guide Program, which outlines the new voluntary tour guide certification program that is now available, pending further judicial review of the mandatory program.
City of Charleston Corporation Counsel Susan Herdina said, “We believe in the merits of the mandatory tour guide licensing program and will be filing a motion to reconsider the Judge’s ruling shortly. In the meantime, it is our hope that this voluntary program will help maintain the high quality of customers’ experiences when paying for a tour here in Charleston.”
