Due to the freezing rain advisory, City of Charleston governmental offices and courts will delay opening for normal operations, including garbage collection services, until 10 a.m. tomorrow, February 24. The delayed opening does not apply to public safety employees or other essential personnel needed to provide essential City services.
Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. said, “Everyone should make sure that they are prepared for potential travel delays due to hazardous road conditions. If you must drive, use extreme caution. Review your emergency supplies, and monitor the local news to stay alert to potential changing weather conditions.”
