The King Street BID was spearheaded by King Street property owners who created the Charleston Downtown Alliance (CDA) to manage the district. A private nonprofit organization governed by a board of directors, the mission of CDA is to create a more vibrant, connected, and prosperous King Street using the Business Improvement District as a primary tool.

Street Sweeping Program

Several of the neighborhoods surrounding the CBD are part of the Alternate Side & Signed Complete Street Sweeping Program. Street sweeping is an important function for street maintenance and stormwater infrastructure since debris and litter can clog drains, leading to increased flooding.  Please remind your employees and patrons to always check for street signs when parking. This will help avoid tickets and tows. We appreciate your cooperation in making the program as effective as possible!
