Phase 2 of the Huger Street and King Street Drainage Improvements involves the construction of a stormwater storage feature that will include a new pump station. The pump station is designed to provide additional capacity to the existing drainage system by relieving the existing gravity system currently in place during significant storm events. It is anticipated that the pump station will be able to increase flow out of the intersection by 70,000 gallons per minute and also increase the storage capacity. This will relieve the busy intersection and significantly reducing the flooding impacts that is has historically experienced.
This phase is set to begin in September 2024, and is anticipated to reach completion in about 18 months.
