Historic Resources Survey & Architectural Inventory 

In order to identify structures within peninsula Charleston which should be preserved, maintained,  and protected in the public interest and to provide guidance for the Board of Architectural Review, the following historic resources surveys architectural inventories of historic buildings have been prepared and adopted. 

  • City of Charleston Architectural Inventory (Old & Historic District and Old City District - Line Street to the Battery)  
    • Architectural Inventory (database pdf)
    • Individual survey cards (1973, 1974, 1986) in full detail are available at the Preservation Division office at 2 George Street. 
  • Upper Peninsula Architectural Survey (Historic Corridor District, Historic Materials Demo Purview - Line Street to Mount Pleasant Street)
