Putting

Knowledge - need to say and demonstrate these 7 putting forms

  1. Thumbs on Top
  2. The "Y" Setup
  3. Eyes over the Ball
  4. Short, Medium, Long Putt
  5. Aim the Train at a Spot
  6. Reading the Green
  7. Putting Routine

Skills

  1. Short Putt - 2 feet away from hole, must make 5 of 5
  2. Medium Putt - 20 feet away on sloping green, must two-putt 4 of 5 attempts
  3. Opposite Side of Hole - 20 feet opposite side of medium putt, must two-putt 4 of 5 attempts
  4. Long Putt - 40 feet away, must two-putt 3 of 5 attempts

Chipping Forms

Knowledge - need to say and demonstrate these 8 chipping forms

  1. Hotdog in a Bun
  2. "Y" Setup, Ball in Middle
  3. Backswing = Follow-Through
  4. Brush the Grass
  5. Short and Medium Chip
  6. Chipping Routine
  7. Choke Down
  8. Stick the Finish and Be Still

Skills

  1. Short Chip - 20 feet away, must chip 4 of 5 into within 8 feet of the hole
  2. Medium Chip - 40 feet away, must chip 2 of 5 into within 8 feet of the hole

Pitching Forms

Knowledge - need to say and demonstrate these 9 pitching forms

  1. Hotdog in a Bun
  2. "Y" Setup / Ball in the Middle
  3. Little "L" to Little "L"
  4. Backswing = Follow-through
  5. Aim the Train at a Spot
  6. Short and Medium Pitch
  7. Pitching Routine
  8. Bruch the Grass
  9. Stick the Finish / Show some Shoe

Skills

  1. Short Pitch - 10 yards away, 3 of 5 must land and stay on the green
  2. Medium Pitch - 40 yards away, 2 of 5 must land and stay on the green

Sand

Knowledge - need to say and demonstrate these 7 Sand forms

  1. Don't Touch
  2. Ball Forward
  3. "Y" to "L"
  4. Sand Routine
  5. Open Stance / Swing Parallel
  6. Splash the Sand Under the Ball
  7. Stick the Finish / Show Some Shoe

Skills

  1. Sand Shot - 3 of 5 balls out of bunker, with one landing and staying on the green

Full Swing

Knowledge - need to say and demonstrate these 7 full swing forms

  1. "Y" Setup / Ball Positions
  2. "Y" to "L"
  3. Release the "L"
  4. Brush the Grass
  5. Stick the Finish, Show some Shoe
  6. Find Your Target
  7. Aim the Train

Skills

  1. Mid-Iron Shot - Hit a 6, 7, or 8 Iron off the ground at least 40 yards in air, 3 of 5 attempts.
  2. Driver Shot - Hit Driver off a tee at least 60 yards in the air, 3 of 5 attempts.

Equipment, Rules & Etiquette Knowledge

  1. This information is covered in the back of the Learning Program Handbook. You must answer 5 of 5 questions correct verbally.

Scoring

  1. Once qualified by passing skills test, you will go play holes on the golf course. For Level 3, you must make 6 or better 3 times from 150 yards away.
