PUBLIC NOTICE
The U.S. Department of Housing and Community Development awarded the City of Charleston for the program year beginning June 1, 2024, through May 31, 2025, $920,860 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, $491,545.51 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds, and $1,178,892 in Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) funds. These funding awards will be used to achieve the goals of the 2020-2025 Consolidated Plan and will be included in the 2024-2025 Annual Action Plan.
The City of Charleston City Council, at its June 18, 2024, meeting, approved the final budget for the 2024-2025 CDBG, HOME and HOPWA programs based on the recommendations of the Community Development Advisory Committee and the Community Development Committee of City Council.
Pursuant to the Regulations published by HUD regarding the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) and in accordance with the City of Charleston’s Citizen Participation Plan, a draft of the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) is being made available for public comment. A copy will be available for review at the Department of Housing and Community Development, 2 George St., Suite 2600, Charleston, South Carolina beginning August 12, 2025. Anyone interested in providing written comments may forward them to Geona Shaw Johnson, Director, Department of Housing and Community Development, City of Charleston, South Carolina 29401. Comments will be received until August 30, 2025.
