The Charleston Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another injured early Saturday morning at an apartment complex on Morrison Drive.
At approximately 12:45 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire at the 930 NoMo apartment complex, located at 930 Morrison Drive. When they arrived, officers located one man deceased in a hallway. Another adult male with a gunshot wound to his leg was found on the property and transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Preliminary information indicates that an argument broke out among attendees at a Halloween party. The argument escalated, and multiple individuals involved in the altercation exchanged gunfire.
Charleston Police are aware that the complex houses several College of Charleston students. The department has been in contact with College of Charleston Public Safety and confirmed that none of the primary parties involved in this incident are enrolled at the college.
Detectives are continuing to review the circumstances. This investigation is active, and no charges have been filed at this stage. Anyone with information or VIDEO is asked to contact the Charleston Police Department at 843-720-2422 and ask for the on-duty Central Detective, or submit a tip anonymously at www.charleston-sc.gov/tips.
