Charleston Police have arrested Paul Emmanuel Chisolm, 30, of North Charleston, in connection with multiple violent offenses that occurred at the Bridgeview Village Apartments between August 16 and September 21, 2025. One incident injured a 5-year-old child, who has since been released from the hospital.
Timeline of incidents:
• August 16, 2025: On August 16, 2025, officers patrolling North Romney Street near Bridgeview Village heard gunshots and responded to the apartments. Officers found shell casings and bullet damage to the front door of a residence. No injuries were reported. Investigators later determined the resident was known to Chisolm.
• August 21, 2025: Officers responded to a separate shooting at a different North Romney Street residence. Gunshots were fired through the front door and struck a sleeping 5-year-old child and an adult inside. Both survived and were released from the hospital. Investigators determined these victims had no connection to Chisolm.
• September 21, 2025: Chisolm returned to the residence from the August 16 incident, forced entry, and assaulted the victim during an argument over money. He also assaulted another person who attempted to intervene.
Arrest and charges:
Following these investigations, officers arrested Chisolm in North Charleston. He is charged with:
• Two counts of shooting into a dwelling
• Three counts of assault and battery (first degree)
• Two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature
• Possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime
• Domestic violence (first degree)
• Assault and battery (third degree)
• Damage to real property
Chisolm remains in custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center. At the time of the offenses, he was under the supervision of the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services.
