The Charleston Police Department has made an arrest for a robbery that occurred at the First Citizens Bank at 1624 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., July 1, 2025.
Officers were dispatched to the robbery at around 10:30 a.m. where bank employees reported that an individual entered the location and passed a note to an employee demanding money.
Detectives have charged Jason Rashad Simmons (37, of Moncks Corners) with entering a bank with intent to steal.
Officers arrested Simmons this afternoon in Goose Creek with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
During the investigation, detectives learned that the suspect used a public computer at a nearby library to print out a version of the note, before passing a handwritten note to the bank tellers demanding money.
