Charleston Police Investigating a Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Collision on Savannah Highway

The Charleston Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle that occurred on April 16, 2025, at approximately 6:15 a.m. on Savannah Highway near Skylark Drive. 

A Toyota sedan was traveling northbound on Savannah Highway and struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the roadway. The driver of the vehicle stopped immediately.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where they died from their injuries. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.   

Police are seeking any witnesses to this collision that could assist in the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charleston Police Department Traffic Unit at (843) 965-4084. 

This incident marks the fourth fatal traffic-related collision investigated by the Charleston Police Department this year.
