The 53rd annual MLK Parade will take place this Monday, January 20. The parade setup will begin near Burke High School at 6:00 a.m. which will result in the early closing of Fishburne Street near Hagood Avenue. The parade is expected to begin at 9:00 a.m. and will proceed east on Fishburne Street, north on Ashley Avenue, east on Sumter Street, south on King Street, east on Calhoun Street, and will end on Calhoun Street near Elizabeth Street.
The route is expected to reopen by 12:00 p.m.
Vehicle access to several businesses and residences will be limited during the parade. Officers will be stationed along the route to assist with traffic flow and neighborhood access.
