The Charleston Police Department has made an arrest for a shooting that resulted in two victims being hospitalized.
Shortly after midnight on November 13, 2024, a suspect shot a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old inside a BlueWater gas station located at 2493 Savannah Highway. The suspect fled before officers arrived. The two victims were transported to a local hospital. One victim sustained serious injuries but is in stable condition, and the second victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives determined Jamari Robbie Hazel (21, of North Charleston) was already in the store when the victims entered the Bluewater gas station. Once Hazel observed the victims, he shot at them multiple times before fleeing. Hazel has been arrested and is charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He is in custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Detectives are actively investigating, and preliminary information suggests this was not a random act of violence.
This is an active investigation. We are asking that anyone with information related to this incident contact the Charleston Police Department at 843-720-2422 and request to speak with the on-duty detective or submit a tip at: https://charlestonpd.fususvault.com/tips
