Charleston Police to Host Domestic Violence Awareness Program

The Charleston Police Department invites the community to join us in recognizing National Domestic Violence Awareness Month with a special program on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Brittlebank Park.

The evening will feature remarks from Chief Walker and representatives from local nonprofit organizations, including My Sister’s House and Liza’s Line, who will share resources and support available to survivors.

In addition, the Ashley River Bridge will be illuminated in purple to honor survivors and raise awareness about the impact of domestic violence.

This program is open to the public, and we encourage residents to attend in support of survivors and community awareness.
