Johns Island Woman Charged with Murder

The Charleston Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the Twelve Oaks neighborhood on Fenwick Allee Drive on Johns Island.

On January 2, 2026, at around 5:30 a.m. officers responded to a residence on Fenwick Hall Allee for a report of a deceased adult male. Detectives and the Charleston County Coroner’s office determined the death was the result of a homicide.

Detectives learned that the victim was physically assaulted by his girlfriend several days earlier during an argument. The assault caused internal injuries that led to the victim’s death, as a result, detectives charged Chelsea Ann McDaniel (37, of Charleston) with murder. McDaniel is in custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center. The victim’s name will be released by the coroner’s office.
