On October 26, 2025, at around 12:00 p.m., Charleston Police responded to a report of a shooting that occurred inside a residence on South Enston Avenue in Downtown Charleston.
Officers arrived and located one suspect inside the residence with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to their arm. A second suspect was located at a residence on Doscher Avenue with a stab wound to their neck. Both suspects were transported to a local hospital.
Detectives determined that Keon Haynes (26, Charleston) and Christopher Connor (21, Charleston) forcefully entered a residence during a robbery attempt. People inside the home disarmed and wounded both Haynes and Connor. One of the residents reported being grazed by gunfire while disarming one of the home invaders.
Charges for Connor include:
- Assault and battery 1st degree
- Armed robbery
- Burglary 1st degree
- Possession of a weapon during the commission of violent crime
Charges for Haynes include:
- Assault and battery 1st degree
- Armed robbery
- Burglary 1st degree
The preliminary investigation indicates that the suspects and the victims were known to each other. Haynes was under the supervision of the SC Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services at the time of this incident. Both suspects have been released from the hospital and are in custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
