The Charleston Police Department has arrested a man on burglary charges following an early morning incident in West Ashley’s Grand Oaks neighborhood.
On April 3, 2025, around 7:00 a.m., officers responded to a burglary in progress on Sterlington Way. The homeowner reported that a stranger attempted to enter their home through the back door. After the homeowners secured the door, the suspect banged on it and demanded entry.
The homeowner held the suspect at gunpoint until officers arrived and took him into custody. Solomon Yakobashvili, 33, of Charleston, was charged with second-degree burglary and is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
