On December 21, 2024, at around 5:50 p.m. officers responded to reports of a robbery at Five Below, located at 975 Savannah Highway. It was reported that a suspect scratched an employee’s arm when confronted for shoplifting.
Following an investigation, the Charleston Police Department identified the individual photographed as the suspect. Demond Lewis Gilliam is charged with strong arm robbery. Gilliam was taken into custody January 29, 2025, by the North Charleston Police Department.
