Police Seek Help Identifying Suspect in Sexual Assault

CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a sexual assault that occurred in the Bridgeview Apartment complex in downtown Charleston.

On April 23, 2025, officers responded to a report of a sexual assault that took place inside a residence on North Romney Street. The victim has since worked with detectives to develop a composite sketch of the suspect.

The individual is described as a Black male with an average build, a mustache, and dreadlocks. He is also reported to have a tattoo on his neck.

Detectives are actively investigating this incident and encourage anyone with information that could help identify the suspect to contact the Charleston Police Department at 843-720-2422 and ask to speak with the on-duty Central Detective. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the department’s website at www.charleston-sc.gov/tips.
