Today, 36 crews were out collecting debris throughout the city of Charleston.
To date, more than 44,000 cubic yards of debris have been collected citywide.
The first pass of storm debris collection is expected to be finished by September 28th, with all work substantially complete by October 10th.
Citizens can track the progress of debris removal in specific zones throughout the city by viewing the city’s storm debris collection map, linked here: http://gis.charleston-sc.gov/hurricane-maps-tools/. The map will be updated regularly with the current percentages of debris collected in each zone.
Residents are asked to have all their debris ready for pick up no later than Sunday, September 22nd.
