The City of Charleston will hold a public meeting to present preliminary information and gather feedback on the proposed site for new city office buildings at 1660 and 1662 Ingram Road in West Ashley. Residents will be able to review initial concepts, ask questions, and share input on design priorities and community needs. The event is free to attend, and registration is strongly encouraged. Please RSVP via Eventbrite link

 Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, 5:30–6:30 p.m.

Where:
Founders Hall, 1500 Old Towne Rd., Charleston, SC 29407.

Background:

West Ashley is the city’s largest residential area. Locating new administrative offices there is intended to bring services closer to residents and reduce cross-town commuting for many city employees who live in West Ashley. Plans call for a state-of-the-art facility that will house key departments and be designed to serve the community for the long term. Projects within the West Ashley tax increment financing (TIF) district, including this site, undergo staff-level design review. To ensure robust public input, the City is hosting this meeting and will offer additional opportunities for feedback as the project advances.

How to participate if you can’t attend:
The city will send out meeting materials to those who register via the Eventbrite link.
