Animal Services
About the Services
Our animal services officers are available 24 hours a day to respond to your calls for service. Animal services officers answer all types of calls regarding animals and are well equipped to handle calls in a safe manner.

Their training and skill provides for the safety of our citizens from dangerous animals and for the humane treatment of the animal involved. Below are just some of the functions of Animal Services: 
  • Picking up stray animals 
  • Caring for injured animals 
  • Securing dangerous animals 
  • Monitoring of the treatment and humane care of animals used commercially (i.e., carriage-tour horses)

Should you need an animal services officer for any reason, call the Consolidated Dispatch Center at 843-743-7200. If the situation is an emergency, call 9-1-1.
