About the Division
The Environmental Services Division is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for residents and visitors of the City of Charleston.  This division is responsible for the collection of refuse, street sweeping, and enforcement of related environmental codes adopted by the City Council.

Services include garbage collection, trash collection, and street sweeping

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Schedule  

The City of Charleston will be closed on Monday, January 21, 2019 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. To ensure timely pickup of garbage and trash the schedule outlined below will be followed.

City Crews (inside I-526) will collect one day behind schedule:

• Monday routes will be collected on Tuesday, January, 22nd
• Tuesday routes will be collected on Wednesday, January 23rd
• Wednesday routes will be collected on Thursday January 24th
• Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, January 25th

Carolina Waste (Outside of I-526) will collect one day behind schedule:

• Monday routes will be collected on Tuesday, January, 22nd
• Tuesday routes will be collected on Wednesday, January 23rd
• Wednesday routes will be collected on Thursday January 24th
• Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, January 25th

Republic Services’ Daniel Island routes will run as normally scheduled.
