Event Coordination
The Special Events Coordinator at the Charleston Maritime Center will be happy to help you in coordination of your event. Please let us know of any special requests or needs, and we will do our best to assist you in making your wishes come true!

CateringWedding at the Maritime Center
The Charleston Maritime Center welcomes your choice of caterers. We will be happy to assist you in selection of a caterer and/or menu planning for your event. Just let us know!

Equipment Rental
We will be happy to assist in arranging the rental of tables, chairs, linens, plants, and any other items you need for your event. The Maritime Center also has tables and chairs available for your use, on a first come, first served basis.

The Maritime Center welcomes your choice of bartenders. We will also be delighted to assist you in choosing from the finest bartending services in the local area.

Parking garages are located within 2 blocks of the facility, as well as metered spaces on Laurens Street. Spaces in the parking lot directly behind the Maritime Center are available on a first come, first served basis and are not guaranteed with any rental.

Boat Docking Boat docks
The Charleston Maritime Center has a fully operating marina. Docking of boats at our facility can be arranged with appropriate notice, based on available space. We will be happy to have you work with our dock master on fees and availability of this service. This is a great way to exit your wedding in style!

You may serve alcohol. You are required to abide by the laws of the SC ABC Commission. You may contact them at 803-734-0470. If you are selling tickets to your event, selling alcohol, or providing a "brown bagging" event, a permit from the SC ABC Commission is required. See your event planner for more details.

Rental Times
The Maritime Center is available for rental access from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m., seven days a week. Events must end by 10:30 p.m. in order to meet the midnight guideline for clean-up and removal of trash.

You are responsible for disposal of all of your trash. We have large capacity containers located in our parking lot for this purpose. Please discuss this aspect of rental with your caterer or wedding party. Any trash left behind will be subject to a removal fee.

You are required to abide by the Charleston Maritime Center Noise Ordinance which requires all amplified music to end by 9 p.m. No amplified music is allowed outside the building.

Electrical Hook-up
Please let us know of any special electrical requirements. We will make every effort to provide what you need.

Decorations Large meeting room
The use of tabletop decorations are encouraged. Please feel free to discuss your options with us. The use of nails, tacks, screws, glue, and staples are forbidden. The release of balloons is forbidden on the Charleston waterfront for environmental reasons.

Thrown / tossed items used as you exit your reception are limited to bubbles and flower petals. The use of released balloons and rice are forbidden, due to the delicate marine environment. If you are considering an option not listed here, please check with our events coordinator for written approval to be attached to your contract.
