  1. Green Team: Volunteer Opportunity (CPC Barks & Bones Halloween Event)

    Charleston Parks Conservancy is hosting a Howl-o-ween event on October 25th. We are looking for volunteers to help us staff a "Green Team" for the event. Volunteers will be responsible for helping guests sort their trash into composting, recycling, and landfill receptacles. Volunteers will also help with setup, breakdown, and maintenance of the waste receptacles throughout the event.

    Edisto Island Open Land Trust is hosting their 25th Anniversary and annual Oyster Roast on October 27th. We are looking for volunteers to help us staff a "Green Team" for the event. Volunteers will be responsible for helping guests sort their trash into composting, recycling, and landfill receptacles. Volunteers will also help with setup, breakdown, and maintenance of the waste receptacles throughout the event. Volunteers get to enjoy live music and the fun of educating the community about the benefits of composting and reducing landfill waste.

  1. Charleston Farmers Market

    Founded by Mayor Joe Riley in 1988 with the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, the CFM is produced by the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs, in cooperation with the City of Charleston Parks Department and Special Events Committee. Located in historic Marion Square, the CFM has been ranked by Travel and Leisure magazine as one of the top 10 farmers markets in the nation and the City Paper's annual "Best Of" edition has proclaimed the CFM as "Best Outdoor Event" and/or "Best Attraction" for five years running. The CFM is open each Saturday, from April through November, 8:00am to 2:00pm with select Sundays and adjusted hours during the Piccolo Spoleto Festival and Saturdays and Sundays during Holiday Magic in December. Attracting locals and visitors alike, the CFM is the community connection bringing together people from all parts of the Lowcountry and beyond.
