CITY OF CHARLESTON DEPARTMENT OF STORMWATER MANAGEMENT (Owner) is requesting Contractor Statement of Qualifications for the City’s consideration in prequalifying Contractors as qualified to submit a Bid for the construction of the following Project:

Project Overview

Phase 5 of the Spring/Fishburne US 17 Drainage Improvements Project, the fifth and final phase of the Project, is currently in final design and is expected to start construction in the first (1st) quarter of 2023. The Work to be completed will be located at the Lockwood Drive Pump Station site (135 Lockwood Drive, Charleston, SC 29403) and will generally include site and vertical work supporting the construction of a pump station building atop the existing pump station wet well completed as a part of a previous phase of the Project. Work will also include the installation of mechanical and building systems to include electrical, instrumentation, and ventilation systems supporting the operation of the pump station, and the installation of three (3) large (66-inch) axial flow stormwater pumps, right-angle gears, and diesel engine driven power modules. An overview of the City of Charleston’s Spring/Fishburne US 17 Drainage Improvements Project can be viewed at the following web address:

            • Setting and installation of supporting components (e.g., radiator, HPTO clutch, pre-lubrication system, block heater, oil heater, etc.)
            • Precision alignment of shafts (HPTO clutch output shaft to right-angle gear input shaft)

The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting an RFQ for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website.
