City of Charleston Gives Public Notice of FEMA Grant Application

The City of Charleston has applied for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding through the South Carolina Emergency Management Division (SCEMD) as a sub-grantee.

The proposed work includes placement of cameras, flood sensors, and signage within the city’s Special Flood Hazard Area, Zone AE, and at one additional location in Zone X, in order to more quickly detect flooding at key locations and more rapidly warn the motoring public.
