[ARCHIVED] City of Charleston Office on Aging to Host Senior Information Summit

The city of Charleston Mayor’s Office on Aging will host a 2018 Senior Information Summit in partnership with Trident Area Agency on Aging and All About Seniors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Arthur W. Christopher Community Center (265 Fishburne Street).

The summit will showcase information and resources on a range of topics, including affordable housing, non-medical homecare, home health, transportation, public and emergency assistance, financial services, health insurance, medications, legal services, and VA resources. The event also will include workshops to address questions about important issues impacting Charleston’s aging population.

City of Charleston Senior Services Coordinator Jamie Roper said, “Each month, the Mayor’s Office on Aging responds to more than 100 requests for information regarding various services, programs, and resources to help local seniors, their families, and caregivers.  It’s our hope that the Senior Information Summit will not only offer resources on a wide range of vital aging issues, but also directly connect seniors with service providers to meet their immediate and long-term needs.”

This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required. For more information, contact Jamie Roper at 843-577-1306 or roperj@charleston-sc.gov.
