Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Collision on Old Charleston Road
Charleston, S.C. - The Charleston Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle that took place at 11:21 p.m. on Old Charleston Road just east of Main Road.
A three-wheeled motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Old Charleston Road when it lost control, causing the operator to be unseated. First responders arrived at the scene, where a man was located and pronounced deceased.
Officers closed Main Road between US-17 and River Road while investigators processed the scene. The road was reopened by 2 a.m.
This fatal collision remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.

This is the sixth (6th) fatal collision investigated by the Charleston Police Department in 2023.
