This is a blended learning class where a portion will be completed online and the rest will be done at the pool. Participants must pass the following prerequisites:
Retrieve a brick from deep water
Swim 300 meters
Tread water for 2 minutes without using hands
The course includes Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)certifications. Books are not included, but may be downloaded for free or purchased at the Red Cross website. Please register online and call for exact course location.

Starfish Swimming is a nationally recognized swim instructor curriculum. This innovative and learner-focused program uses an "ages and stages" format to develop instructors through in-water training and small group discussions. Participants must pass prerequisites to show water competency and basic knowledge of swimming skill. Participants must pass written exam with 80% or higher in addition to technical performance and simulation to show understanding of concepts. Please register online and call for exact course location.
