About the First Day Festival
FDF Banner.jpg
Every August, Charleston welcomes thousands of students and their families to the First Day Festival.  At the Festival, students and their families receive school supplies, discover student support services, learn about healthy snacks, and enjoy Festival entertainment such as Aquarium tours and boat rides at no cost to attendees.  The Festival is made possible through contributions from individuals and businesses alike.  The First Day Festival is a wonderful way to unite the community around an important cause.

The 13th Annual First Day Festival

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 13th annual First Day Festival our best yet!  An estimated 10,000 children and families were in attendance to enjoy free admission to the SC Aquarium, free harbor tours, free school supplies, and to enjoy the Kids Zone.  School Supplies were also handed out and exhibitors were on hand to provide information on educational opportunities in the community.

A special thank you to Allstate Foundation and Points of Light Foundation for being a part of the Festival and educating our community on disaster preparedness.

We are happy to have been able to provide children with the supplies they need to be successful this year and look forward to next year’s Festival already!
