Neighborhood Services

Neighborhood Services
The Neighborhood Services Division is a conduit of action and assistance between City of Charleston residents and their city government.  We provide information and services to individual residents and ensure that concerns expressed by neighborhood association representatives reach appropriate city officials.

Please be advised that you may also request assistance and information online through the Citizen Support Center and find important contacts on the City Hotlines Flyer.

"I'm a Resident, Now What?" - A Civic Engagement Workshop

Event graphic.png

  • Ever wondered how residents can work together to shape the future of their neighborhoods?
  • Ever thought about putting your time, energy, and talents into making the City of Charleston the best place to live?
  • Ever wanted to know who from the City can directly answer your questions?

If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, the Civic Engagement Workshop; “I’m a Resident, Now What?” is where you need to be!

Join Mayor John Tecklenburg and key City staff for a workshop where residents will learn how the City operates, participate in a mock community planning activity and budget process, meet your neighbors, connect with those who can directly answer your questions, and have some fun in the process!

 Neighborhood Toolkit

NEIGHBORHOODTOOLKIT SUMMIT.pngThe Neighborhood Toolkit was created by the City of Charleston in partnership with Enough Pie, a local non-profit using creativity to connect and empower the community. The toolkit provides support and sample materials for neighborhood associations to help create and maintain dynamic and connected communities. It includes an introduction to the City team who supports neighborhood efforts, ideas for organizing neighborhood meetings, templates for materials, new ways to communicate and more. Download the toolkit.
