Open Enrollment 2018

Open Enrollment Announcement

Monday, October 2, 2017 - Tuesday, October 31, 2017

Open Enrollment will begin on Monday, October 2 and will end on Tuesday, October 31.  Please review the onsite department visit schedule and also download the Benefitfocus App to complete your enrollment. (More details below).

Over the past several years, the City has consistently managed to avoid increases in healthcare premiums while also continuing to expand our benefit programs.  The HRA contributions for both individual and family have increased, the weight loss program lifetime benefit increased, we added/increased well check incentives, and increased the annual dental plan maximum, to name a few.  For 2018, there will be a small premium increase for medical and dental benefits.  The Society for Human Resource Management data has shown a steady increase in health care costs over the last several years when the City has seen no increase in premiums.  We appreciate your continued work to maintain pro-active and preventative wellness focused lifestyles.

We will continue to offer the HSA Medical Plan as a health insurance option this year.  The summary of the HSA plan, the cost, and how to contribute are all included.  This High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) may be a great alternative for employees who, in general, have minimal health care costs throughout the year.  One change for 2018 includes new set pharmacy co-pays once the annual deductible has been met.  This plan includes receiving the quarterly wellness incentives.  If interested in this plan, it is important to set up a contribution with HSA Bank.  Participants will receive a $100 City contributed deposit on January 2, 2018.  Information is available below for your review.

You can complete the Non-Tobacco User Affidavit in HR InTouch/Benefitfocus App; a paper form is not necessary if you complete the online enrollment.

Enrollers will be available for one week, October 9 – 13 at various City locations to enroll in Aflac/Unum products.  See the Open Enrollment calendar for locations.
